Before Lucifer became Satan*, he was a Roman God associated with the planet Venus which heralds the rising of the sun. He was the “Light-Bringer” and to this day is worshipped and honoured as a light in the dark, a God who embodies and teaches wisdom, enlightenment and the arts of the intellect.
This album is an attempt to restore, in some small part, a measure of truth to the story of Lucifer. May he receive the glory, the respect and the honour that is his due. This is my humble offering of respect and devotion to Lord Lucifer.
*It wasn’t until some time after 382 CE that Lucifer became conflated with the myth of the fallen Angel. At that time Saint Jerome commenced a translation of the Hebraic scriptural texts into Latin. That translation became the Latin Vulgate, the Bible as used by the Catholic Church for the next 1000 years. The original Hebraic text in Isaiah 14, describing the fall of a ”shining one, son of the morning” was a reference to a Babylonian King, and not, as mistranslated by Jerome, a fallen Angel.
For fans of dark ambient neoclassical and ritual music.
